Punta Tombo, 180 kilometers from Puerto Madryn, is home to the world’s largest colony of Magellanic penguins. After crossing the vast steppe, the journey turns to the sea through a gravel road by wide beaches. From September to April, these curious birds arrive to the Patagonian coast and settle among many other marine and land species until their return to the north of South America. This tour offers walking among the penguins to closely observe their behavior, rituals and the different phases of their breeding cycle. The tour continues to the town of Trelew to visit the Paleontology Museum, with real size dinosaur replicas. At tea time, a stop at Gaiman, a Welsh village once visited by Princess Diana. About 150 years ago, a group of Welsh immigrants settled here and to this day they still keep their traditions, language, architecture and cuisine.
