As we move away from the Beagle Channel, the mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos are drawn on the horizon. The Carbajal Valley, where the peat moss is harvested and processed, it awaits us on the other side of the first mountain range.
Arriving at the Tierra Mayor Valley, we can observe the Bonete hills, Alvear and some cirque glaciers.

After rowing for 30 minutes and reaching the river mouth, we will havereached the Relegada Bay, home of imperial cormorants and steam ducks among other species. Occasionally, due to the large population of fish and species of invertebrates, there is the sighting of sea lions and south American fur seals as well as some whales.
The paddling ends, after 1 hour, with a soup or hot drinks in the proximity to the legendary Harberton Estancia (the first on the island), founded in 1886 by the Anglican missionary Thomas Bridges.
From there we will go to La Mesita de Almanza, a typical “Fuegian bodegón”, to enjoy an exquisite lunch (based on seafood). After lunch we will start a walk to the “El Duende waterfall”, a beautiful hightlight from the Andes mountain range. At the end of the walk we will begin the return to the city.
