Mount Tronador and Glaciers

Full Day

Mount Tronador is set in the southern Andes range. 3,478 meters high, three large peaks, it owes its name to the “thunderous” ice breaks of its glaciers. This tour explores one of the most beautiful areas in the Nahuel Huapi National Park and borders Mascardi lake towards the gravel road that leads to the Tronador. The itinerary crosses the zigzagging Manso river (which descends from the Tronador towards the Pacific Ocean), borders the lake and the high Manso until Pampa Linda. Through a dense forest, the tour reaches the Ventisquero Negro (Black Snowdrift), characteristically dark colored and contrasting with the immaculate white glaciers on the Tronador. As an alternative, after crossing the Manso river, passengers may continue to the Hess lake and then cross the Roca river to the emerald-green waters Alerces cascade, formed by and abundant stream falling 20 meters.
