Just like locals used to do in old times, this caravan walks with llamas from Tilcara to Maimará on the ancient trails among the hills with panoramic views of Quebrada de Humahuaca. The llamas (a characteristic South American camelid) carry all the necessary items for the journey, including coats and personal belongings. The tour climbs up following the Guasamayo river and the trail to Punta Corral. After Siete Vueltas (2,800 meters above sea level), there is a stop for lunch followed by a slow descent to Tilcara, with a great view of Maimará valley, Painter’s Palette Hill, Quebrada de Hucharias and the archeological site of Pucará de Tilcara. Includes complete lunch with fine wine (vegetarian menu also available) and water during the walk.
