Gable Island, Penguins and Estancia Harbeton

Full Day

This full day tour explores walking and sailing in one of the wildest and most beautiful places in the Beagle Channel. The journey departs east from Ushuaia on route 3. Once on the Lasiphashaj River, passengers can choose between two alternatives: rowing on inflatable canoes or continuing directly to Estancia Haberton and visiting the Marine Mammals Museum and the area where the first pioneers settled in Tierra del Fuego. Meanwhile, the group that chose rowing prepares with rubber boots, shell pants and life vests for an adventure down the river and towards the sea. Once on the Beagle channel, the canoes move towards Haberton, while observing a wide variety of marine birds and sea lions sunbathing on tiny islands. After rowing and visiting the museum at Haberton, both groups reunite at the estancia’s harbor to continue together on a motor boat to Martillo island and visit a penguin colony. The sailing continues to the tour’s main attraction: the great island of Gable, where lunch awaits with fine Patagonian wine. After some coffee, a last walk allows to explore this island, the beavers’ dams, the marine coast and the forest. Finally, the boat turns back to Haberton, where a bus awaits to take the group back to Ushuaia.
