Full Day Gable Island and Estancia Harberton

DURATION:
Full Day
EXPERIENCE:

Nature

The tour departs east from Ushuaia first on route 3, and then on route J, to reach Estancia Haberton and visit the Marine Mammals Museum and the area where the first European pioneers settled in Tierra del Fuego. The program continues on a motor boat sailing to Martillo island to see its penguin colony. Next stop is the great island of Gable, to share some lunch and fine Patagonian wine. After some coffee, a walk along this marvelous island allows to see some traces of the native yámana people and the first settlers in an infinite, magical and extreme landscape. It is one of those places where one can truly feel alone in the world, where silence is only altered by the howling of the wind and the chirping birds. Finally, a walk around the beavers’ dams in the forest takes visitors along the marine coast to reach the beach and the boat to return to Port Haberton.
