Antiques and colonial city at San Telmo
San Telmo is the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, famous for its well preserved colonial houses and narrow cobblestone streets lit by wrought iron lamps. Every weekend, Dorrego square turns into an antiques market, an ideal spot to find treasures from the old days. Prices are usually high but bargaining is expected. In San Telmo, there are always many good street performers, old “conventillos” (traditional communal houses) turned into shops, and cozy coffee shops. The tour explores this romantic district as well as a piece of Buenos Aires’ history.
