Culinary Experience: Buenos Aires, the city of Tango & Mendoza, the land of Argentine Malbec!

DAY 1- Buenos Aires: After arriving at the airport, you will transfer to Buenos Aires hotel and check in. An afternoon city tour follows, during which you will see the Plaza de Mayo, which is surrounded by the Casa Rosada (the president’s executive mansion and office), the colonial Cabildo town hall and the main cathedral. Other highlights include driving along the Caminito street museum, past the multi-colored tin houses in La Boca and through the elegant Barrio Norte on the way to the aboveground Recoleta Cemetery. Finally, you will see the magnificent mansions of the Palermo neighborhood.

In time, you will enjoy coffee and crispy churros pastries in Café Tortoni. Founded in 1858, this veritable institution is Argentina’s oldest coffee shop and considered the city’s artistic and intellectual heart, having hosted notable artists, politicians and authors such as Jorge Luis Borges.

Afterwards, you will return to the hotel to enjoy free time until your evening event – a Tango Show with dinner and wine tasting. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel for the evening.

DAY 2 - Buenos Aires / Mendoza: After breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to the airport and fly due west to Mendoza, a revered wine region with a long, rich history. Malbec is the region’s emblematic wine although Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc stand out, as well.

Upon arriving you will transfer to and visit the Pulenta Estate, a winery that brothers Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta own. Known for its serious commitment to quality and a thoughtful approach to nature, the well-respected winery features a modern and simple design. While touring the winery, you may notice numerous Porsches, which the Pulentas collect. During the wine tasting that follows, you will sample some of the winery’s finest vintages.

Enjoy a 5 course lunch at Melipal, a modern winery founded in 2003 by the family Aristi.  Located in the exclusive zone Agrelo, the winery features bold architecture that is integrated into the surrounding landscape.

Finally transfer to your hotel, where you will have some leisure time and enjoy dinner at the hotel before retiring for the evening.

DAY 3 - Mendoza: After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit Cruzat, a winery known for their high quality sparkling wines.  This winery was founded in 2004 by a group of Chilean businessmen and by Argentinian Agricultural Engineer and Winemaker Pedro Federico Rosell. Cruzat offers an unforgettable experience and an invitation to discover the spirit and magic of sparkling wines, taking you through the different production steps and finishing in the tasting, the climax of the process.

Next, you will drive to Familia Zuccardi, the largest family-owned winery in Argentina. Here, you will join a local chef and participate in a cooking class that will show you how to prepare many of the most popular dishes using regional ingredients. In time, you will dine on your creations, accompanied by a variety of appropriate wines from the vineyard. You will also have the opportunity to sample some locally produced olive oils, another specialty in this region.

Following this remarkable and authentic Argentinean dining experience, you will return to your hotel in Mendoza where you will have some leisure time to enjoy the facilities of the hotel before dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 - Mendoza / Buenos Aires: After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires.

Upon arrival you will you will drive into the charming neighborhood of San Telmo, whose labyrinthine streets are lined with tango bars, antique shops and cafes. Stopping at a popular food market, you will browse the stands, which will be laden with fresh regional produce and meats.

After visiting the Havana Café, where you might buy a sweet pastry made with “dulce de leche,” you will continue on to Palermo for a cooking class. Here, you will discover many of the region’s culinary techniques and learn how to prepare the perfect stuffed empanada.

Then, following lunch and a brief stop for a taste of “dulce de leche” ice cream, you will continue to the pier in Buenos Aires and embark the cruise ship or to International Airport to return home.

- Transfer to Buenos Aires pier for embarkation or International Airport to return home

- Flight to/from Mendoza - Luggage weight limit for domestic flights: a maximum of 15 kg. per passenger is accepted.
