Due to its strategic location as departing point to Antarctica, Ushuaia has become the busiest port for cruise ships in Argentina.
The pier is conveniently located, only a few hundred meters from downtown and it is shared with cargo ships.
A small terminal for security control is located at the entrance of the Ushuaia pier, around 550mts away from the ships. There is no shuttle bus service, but the pier is walkable.

At the very end of the world, Tierra del Fuego's capital, Ushuaia, seats 3,000 km from Buenos Aires on the coast of the Beagle Channel, which can be sailed on a ferry, all the way down to the Les Eclaireurs lighthouse. In Ushuaia city, the Jailhouse Museum is a must see, on the grounds of a maximum security prison that was in service until the 1940's. The Maritime Museum is another staple in Ushuaia, with its replica of the San Juan de Salvamento lighthouse, from Isla de los Estados, known as The End of The World Lighthouse, after the all-time classic Julio Verne book.
