Buenos Aires, the safest city in South America
en Destinations

The Safe Cities Index 2017, elaborated by The Economist, placed our capital city on the 29th position, in front of Santiago de Chile, Rio de Janeiro and San Pablo.
This report considers 60 cities from all over the world in the categories of digital security, health security, infrastructure security, and personal security.

Buenos Aires is the only city in the developing world located at the top half of the index, between two Middle Eastern cities, Abu Dhabi (28th) and Doha (30th).
The top three cities in the index are Tokyo, Singapore and Osaka ranked first, second and third and still separated by mere tenths of a point. Likewise, the remainder of the top ten continues to be comprised of mainly Asian and European cities.
