Buenos Aires City Tax March 2020

As from March 1st 2020, a new City Tax will be applied to foreign tourists, older than 12 years old, for each overnight in the city of Buenos Aires.
According to this new regulation, there will be different rates depending on the category of accommodation selected by the traveller. The tax rate starts at USD 0.50 for 3-star hotels, USD 1 for 4-star hotels and increases to USD 1.5 for 5-star hotels. For Apart-Hotels the fee will be USD 0.50, and for Boutique Hotels, USD 1.
Buenos Aires' City Government established that each hotel is responsible for this tax collection.
