For the first time, an Argentine bistro is included in the annual list that distinguishes the best cuisine locals worldwide.
Tegui, the -literally- hidden restaurant in Palermo neighbourhood, Buenos Aires, was selected as one of the 100 best eating houses in the list elaborated by the British magazine Restaurants that anticipates the annual catalog with The 50 Best Restaurants in the World. Germn Mariateguis eatery, which was ranked 83 in that list, is the only in South America to belong to that exclusive group.
It is the first time the prestigious ranking, issued by an international jury composed of important figures of all regions in the world, includes an Argentine restaurant.
When consulted about this award, Martitegui, also known for his role as jury in the TV show MasterChef, pointed out that our country has many possibilities and I hope that all this promotion helps our gastronomy to define itself. The only future for the Argentine cuisine lies in showing conscientiously what the producers in every town and province accomplish".
