The province's capital and second most populated city in Argentina, Cordoba (proudly known as "La Docta", "the educated") has a population of more than a million, with many young students from all over the country at its prestigious university. This so called "City of Bells", was founded on the 6th of July, 1573, by Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera, and it is traditional and modern; cultural and historic. Its old town is colonial, with a strong influence from the Jesuit monks. Cordoba city also prides itself on excellent tourist services, a great restaurant and entertainment scene, and a lot to do and see in its surroundings: the hills, the great weather, and the relaxed landscapes.
